Unbridled Spirit
What is "Ready to Work?"
A partnership between the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) and the Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Ready to Work is designed to promote the success of Kentucky Transititional Assistance Program (K-TAP) recipients who attend community and technical colleges and to provide short-term training opportunities.
Let us help with:
  • Job references and referrals
  • Short term training, job skills, and academic success seminars
  • Counseling, advising, and mentoring
  • Agency referrals

What is "Work and Learn?"
Ready to Work services have been expanded to include K-Tap adult basic education students who are working toward their GED and high school graduates updating basic skills. Work and Learn assists students by helping them make the transition to college smooth and successful.

What is "Work Study?"
Ready to Work provides work opportunites both on-campus and off-campus through Work Study programs. Parents gain work experience while earning extra income that will not reduce their K-TAP checks. The placement of Work Study students with both private and non-profit employers helps prepare them for the workplace.
  • Parents gain work experience and job retention skills
  • Parents earn extra income that will not reduce their
    K-Tap checks
  • Employers have an opportunity to recruit KCTCS students and graduates
