For First Time Students
164.282 Hepatitis B information to be provided to first-time students.
(1) All public and independent postsecondary education institutions shall provide firsttime,
full-time students with information about hepatitis B disease. The information shall
include:
(2) Nothing in this section shall be construed to require the Cabinet for Health and
Family Services or the postsecondary institutions to provide or purchase vaccinations for
hepatitis B.

include:
(a) Symptoms and treatment;
(b) The risk factors associated with hepatitis B acquisition and transmission; and
(c) Current recommendations from the United States Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, or the American College Health Association regarding the availability and
effectiveness of a hepatitis B vaccination.
