BSCTC offers a Children's Music and Drama Summer Camp - running 2 days a week (Tuesday/Thursday) for 6 weeks in the summer: beginning the third Tuesday in June and running through the last week of July.
The children learn basic concepts of drama and vocal music. They learn skills of acting including improvisation, facial expression, vocal expression, characterization, and more. They also learn concepts of singing including Singer's Breathing Techniques, singing vowels, notes and rhythm, and how to site read music when singing.
The children then apply what they learn to the production of a musical that they present in Gearheart Auditorium on our Prestonsburg Campus with full costumes, sets, lighting, and sound. In the past, the children have completed such productions as Cinderella and Snow White. Above, the children pose in costume after a performance of Cinderella: A Musical for Children.
There is no fee for the camp. The only requirement is that the parent provide their child's costume for the performance. Camp is
directed by Laura Ford Hall. If you have an interest in the Summer Program, please contact Laura Hall during the month of
