Big Sandy Community and Technical College has a number of scholarships available for both new and returning students. Thanks to the generosity of many donors, the College is able to help students with scholarship awards.
Students are encouraged to submit a scholarship application. Every student who applies will not receive a scholarship but without an application, there can be no awards.
The Scholarship Committee reviews all applications and awards scholarships based on the award criteria and the students’ qualifications. Incoming new students’ applications are due no later than April 1 of each year. The committee meets and finalizes these awards no later than the end of April. Returning students’ applications are due no later than May 1 of each year. The committee meets and makes these awards by the end of May.
In addition to the awards that BSCTC administers, every year many outside agencies offer scholarship opportunities to our students. The scholarship committee chair shares these external scholarships with students via the KCTCS student email account. It is vitally important that students retain open access to this email account. It is the only means of communication about scholarships that the committee uses throughout the academic year.
