These general education college classes are offered on the local high school campus. Big Sandy Community and Technical College faculty travel to the high school campus or use ITV delivery. High school students do not have to leave the high school campus to experience the atmosphere of a college classroom. You must meet the following requirements:
- Be a junior or senior in high school or at least 16 years of age,
- Complete the Statement for Early Admission,
- Complete the BSCTC Collegiate Beginnings Application,
- Complete a BSCTC Class Schedule,
- Meet test requirements for each course (ACT or COMPASS), and
- Pay tuition and application fees.
OR
COMPASS Scores: Writing 70 or Above, Math 48 or Above (Algebra Domain), Reading 81 or Above

Many Area Technology Centers and High Schools are teaching classes in fields where the curriculum matches the college curriculum for that course. BSCTC has entered into Dual Credit Agreements with these schools to issue college credit for these courses. Big Sandy Community and Technical College offers these classes at no cost to the students who apply and are enrolled in the technical classes covered in the dual credit agreement. You must meet the following requirements:
- Be a junior or senior in high school or at least 16 years of age,
- Be enrolled in at least one of the technical classes in the agreement,
- Complete the BSCTC Collegiate Beginnings Application,
- Complete a BSCTC Class Schedule,
- Dual Credit Technical Education is tuition free.
